Abstract:
The abundant sources of thermal energy is available, the different forms of energy is converting into heat easily and also, in the any energy conversion systems, a part of primary energy converted into useless energy in the form of heat. so, the necessity of inventing and developing systems that can convert thermal energy, especially waste thermal energy turns it into electrical energy, makes it very important. Considering that the electronic equipment required by mankind is increasing day by day, and in some remote areas, there is no access to electricity, and the use of renewable energy is limited. As a result, In this research, a portable system for generating electricity from thermal energy/waste thermal energy that can be obtained from different sources such as biomass in any location and geographical conditions was designed, built and evaluated. The system was organized from units of heat source and transfer, cooling, energy conversion, monitoring and measurement, energy storage and data recording. Thermoelectric was used in the energy conversion unit. Different types of thermoelectric arrangements in the system were thermally and electrically tested and investigated. The results showed that the system can be successfully used in different conditions to produce the required power on a small scale, and with the increase in the temperature difference between the cold and hot thermoelectric surfaces, the voltage, The current and output power of the system increases. The maximum voltage, output current and power of the system was obtained with the thermal series-parallel electrical arrangement.
