Abstract:
Dynamic cutting force is one of the basic and important information for the design of agricultural harvest systems. Therefore, in this study, a system was designed for measurement the cutting force in dynamic and semi-static modes. This system is designed and built to be a simulation of the cutter bar of harvesters. The designed system was used to determine the cutting force of wheat in two modes. The system was evaluated at different cutting bar frequencies and the results showed that the frequency of 60 Hz is suitable for cutting wheat. The cutting force for wheat was recorded in both modes and based on it the shear strength was calculated. The results of this study showed that the shear strength in the semi-static state is almost three times that of the dynamic state. The value of shear strength in dynamic mode and frequency 60 Hz is equal to 1.163 MPa.
