Abstract:
Precision agriculture with the use of information technologies leads to optimal consumption of inputs and, consequently, reduces production costs, reduces environmental pollution, and increases productivity in agriculture. However, the adoption and use of these technologies is not optimal. This study examines the attitudes of progressive farmers in Ardabil province towards precision agricultural technologies. This research was conducted by a virtual survey method. The statistical population of the study includes all 295 progressive farmers of the province, 130 of whom have participated in the survey voluntarily. The instrument of the study was a researcher-made questionnaire that was developed based on literature review and considering the study area. It was validated by university staffs. To obtain the reliability of the research instrument, a pilot study was conducted in collaboration with 30 progressive farmers outside the sample. The alpha value for the attitude was 0.962. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between farmers 'attitudes toward precision agricultural technologies and variables of information sources, knowledge, education, cultivation area, familiarity with precision agricultural technologies and farmers' trust in precision agricultural technologies. Based on the regression results, these variables explained 62.2 % of the variance of farmers' attitudes.
